Gods Lake First Nation Water Treatment Plant Upgrades
The Challenge
The East and West Water Treatment Plants were no longer keeping up with the demand and would not be able to meet future demand as the community grew. The capacity of the reservoirs was not enough and the water production rate was becoming a problem. This led to the expansion of both water treatment plant facilities and upgrading the raw water pump houses/intakes.
Our Solution
Work on the East WTP consists of the following: new foundation for expansion, pre-engineered steel structure, installation of an ion exchange system for removal of dissolved organic carbon, new chemical dosing systems and panels, new compressed air units, electrical control systems, refurbishment of existing membrane filtration system, replacing process pumps and other chemical metering/dosing pumps, replacing distribution pumps and instruments, new calcium hypochlorite tablet feed system and instruments, removing existing stand by generator and installing a new one, upgrades to underground piping to connect to existing infrastructure, proper HVAC system into the existing plant and the expansion area, and hypochlorite dosing lines run to the raw water intake screen.
Work on the West WTP consist of the following: new foundation for expansion, pre-engineered steel structure, installation of an ion exchange system for removal of dissolved organic carbon, new chemical dosing systems and panels, new compressed air units, electrical control systems, install ultra filtration skids and nano filtration skids, new clean-in-place skid, installation of existing membrane filtration system, replacing process pumps and other chemical metering/dosing pumps, replacing distribution pumps and instruments, new calcium hypochlorite tablet feed system and instruments, install standby generator, upgrades to underground piping to connect to existing infrastructure, proper HVAC system into the existing plant and the expansion area, and hypochlorite dosing lines ran to the raw water intake screen.
