Project Description

The Norway House Cree Nation, Health Centre of Excellence – Professional Accommodations Building project is being constructed by JNR Construction a Joint Venture between the Norway House Cree Nation and Sigfusson Northern Ltd.

The community of Norway House Cree Nation is located on the east channel of the Nelson River, approximately 456 kms North of Winnipeg, 208 kms East of the Pas and 190 kms South of Thompson.

Construction of this new 29,569 Square-Foot, Two-Story Apartment Building consists of Civil Services, Storm Water Management, Driven Steel H-Pile Foundation, Engineered Wood Truss Framing, Energy-Efficient Building Envelope, Fibre-Cement Siding and Triple-Pane Fiberglass Windows, Gypsum Cement Underlayment, Architectural Woodwork, Sustainable Interior Finishes, Two-Stage Hydraulic Elevator, Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Protection and Security Systems. Additional building features include One, Two and Three Bedroom Suites, Accessible Amenities, Exterior Pergola, Fitness Centre, Yoga Studio, Laundry Facility and Lounge. The utilization of local resources have ensured the projects target of 3 Green Globes Certification is achieved which will minimize environmental impacts, reduce operating cost and optimize occupant comfort.

The development of this multi-residential building will provide quality shortterm and long-term accommodations for health-care professionals meeting the needs of Norway House Cree Nation community members.
