WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT!
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor and/or Fleet Superintendent, the Heavy-Duty Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance, troubleshooting and component rebuilding of all heavy-duty equipment. Opportunities for this position may be located in Lundar, MB or will be site-based on one of our projects. Camp accommodations will be provided in Lundar, MB for those out of town, and all positions at project sites will have camp accommodations provided.
ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WE NEED FROM YOU!
- Diagnose fault codes and troubleshoot failures of off-road equipment
- Service and repair of equipment including excavators, dozers, graders, haul trucks, and light duty vehicles
- Disassemble/overhaul of engines or engine components, transmissions, drive systems components and other assemblies
- Troubleshoot and determine diagnosis on overhaul equipment including testing and adjustments
- Update and maintain service records using the company maintenance software program
- Attend daily safety and pre-shift meetings
- Ensure safety is a top priority while performing all duties and responsibilities
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU BE A POSITIVE IMPACT?
- Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification is required.
- Minimum 5+ years of extensive experience with heavy construction is required.
- Experience with CAT S.I.S, JD Service Advisor, and Volvo Prosis will be considered an asset.
- Experience working on rigid frame and articulating rock trucks will be considered an asset.
- Experience working on CAT and John Deere excavators and dozers will be considered an asset.
- Experience with various machine grade control systems (Trimble and Topcon) will be considered an asset.
- Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be physically fit to perform the Heavy-Duty Mechanic job duties and requirements safely.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must always keep safety a top priority.
