WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT!
Reporting to the Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be operating excavators, bulldozers, and/or graders on a daily basis. The Heavy Equipment Operators will be working on a rotational basis in a remote location where camp accommodations and meals will be provided. The project sites are located in Northern Manitoba, Northern Ontario, and Southwestern Manitoba. This position requires day and night shifts and is looking for individuals who want a long-term and stable position.
ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WE NEED FROM YOU!
- Operate excavators, dozers, and graders in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct daily pre-trip safety inspections on the equipment
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment as required
- Report all incidents and near misses to the Site Foreman
- Ensure safety is a top priority at all times
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Negotiate scope of work, costs, payment terms, and complete subcontractor agreements.
- Promote and monitor the use of field tracking tools by the project team.
- Track quantities of work produced on the project for accounting purposes.
- Oversee the preparation, recommendation, and adherence to the project budget, ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU BE A POSITIVE IMPACT?
- Proven experience operating an excavator, dozer, and/or grader.
- Proven Heavy Civil, General Contracting and/or oilfield experience.
- GPS and finishing experience are very appealing assets.
- Works well in a team setting and understands the importance of collaboration
- Ability to take direction and constructive feedback from supervision to enhance individual and company performance
- Knowledge and experience with pipeline operations and construction in the oil and gas industry.
- First Aid & CPR, Ground Disturbance Level II, and H2S Alive training are required.
- Familiar with pipeline construction, integrity digs, and ROW reclamation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, always changing environment.
- Knowledge and willingness to continually learn and develop, and openness to additional training.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Train the Trainer and other supervisory training will be considered an asset.
- Must be able to present a clear security clearance check and pass an alcohol & drug test prior to commencing employment and if required, throughout employment.
