Project Description
The Shoal Lake 40 First Nation Water Treatment Plant project is being constructed by the Shoal Lake 40 First Nation / Sigfusson Northern Ltd. Joint Venture.
The Shoal Lake 40 First Nation community is located approximately 70 km south west of Kenora, Ontario and approximately 200 km east of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Construction over the span of an 18 month duration includes construction of the water treatment plant building complete with inground reservoir and a new storage building, installation of site works and site grading, rock excavation, terrestrial watermain and marine watermain construction, installation of a 2400mm x 2400mm low lift raw water pumping station, 25 water service connections, chemical feed systems, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC works, control and instrumentation systems, septic system and field bed, as well as decommissioning and retrofitting of existing pumphouses.
At completion, the community of Shoal Lake 40 First nation will be provided with potable drinking water after decades of boil water advisories.
